When exercise is good for the mind – our trip to the Six Nations Rugby
Feb 23, 2018
They say that exercise is good for the mind and considering how hard we work our minds at Pie we thought we would take in a bit of exercise (of sorts!) and head off down to Twickenham to take in a Six Nations match.
A group comprising Pie team members and valued customers and partners all met up at Twickenham for a bit of pre-match hospitality and the usual banter that accompanies these things. The first foray into corporate hospitality for us at Pie and, I’m pleased to say, a positive one. It’s a good forum to build relationships and chat business in a not too formal setting and we enjoyed spending time with everyone, especially as there was a mixture of supporters among us
The England fans were feeling rather confident considering England had lifted the trophy in 2016 and 2017 and the champagne reception and three course meal, enjoyed whilst watching the Ireland vs Italy match, did little to settle our excitement.
Buoyed up from the hospitality and the pre-match talk by the ex-England internationals we headed off to the stadium with great expectations.
I am pleased to say that two early tries from England's Jonny May set up a hard-fought 12-6 victory over Wales at Twickenham. Wales fought hard in the second half, but to no avail (sorry chaps!)
Fuelled from the win (and freeing from the rain!) we headed back to the corporate hospitality marquee post-match for a warming pie (what else!) and a dram(ish) of whiskey!Blog home
